"At what time are check-in and check-out?" "
Check-in is at 3 pm and check-out is at 10:00 am (in case of weekend-renal at 11:00 am at the latest). Arrangements for an earlier check-in or a later check-out may be possible, depending on availability and previous notice. This can only be arranged the day before arrival or departure, as our availability can change from day to day. Therefore we cannot guarantee that it is possible, but please contact our office in Budapest.
"Is the price per apartment or per person?"
The price stated is per apartment per night. If you require the apartment for a longer period, e.g. a month or more, please contact our office for a special price.
"Do all apartments have double beds?"
All apartments have either double beds or twin beds that can be pushed together to create a double bed.
"Is breakfast included?"
No, but all apartments have a private kitchen and there are several restaurants in the area. In the apartment you will find our guest book in which you can find local recipes, advice on where to shop and a other useful information.
"Is there a lift?"
Lifts are available in all of the buildings where our apartments lie.
"Are the apartments safe?"
Safety is one of the qualities we stress the most when choosing the best apartments. Therefore we always choose the best apartments in the safest areas of the city.
"Can I bring a pet?"
No, sorry pets are not allowed.
"How many people can share an apartment?"
In the apartment descriptions it is stated how many guests that are allowed to stay in each apartment (children under the age of three that use a weekend bed and high chair are not included - please contact our office if you need to rent a children's bed).
If more people are to be found in the apartment, we reserve the right to turn out the extra people without warning.
If this exclusion is not observed within 12 hours we reserve the right to cancel the rental agreement and turn out all tenants without further warning.
"How do I pay?"
Payments are made in connection with the booking.
"Where do I check in?"
Before arriving in Budapest you have to contact our office to make arrangements about key pick-up.
Please be aware that additional payments will be charged in case of damage to the apartment or its furniture made during your stay or for loss of keys, additional cleaning if necessary or for calling upon staff to carry out unnecessary duties.
"How do I secure my booking?"
Like other accommodation agencies, we need bookings to be secured beforehand and for a mutually binding reservation your payment is required. Payment is made online by credit card through a 100% secure, encrypted connection.
"How long has your accommodation agency existed?"
AIF Budapest was founded in Denmark in the winter of 2006 based on the mission of providing apartments in Budapest of high, European standard, in consideration for the history and culture of the city.
"Are the apartments near the centre of the city?"
All our apartments are located in the most prestigious and central locations the city has to offer.
“Is there a telephone in the apartment?”
No, but GSM mobile phones work in Hungary.
“Can I smoke in the apartment?”
No, all the apartments are no-smoking.
“How often is the apartment cleaned?”
The apartment is cleaned by professionals between each guest and towels and bed linens are changed. This cleaning is compulsory and paid by tenant. If you are staying for more than a week, extra cleaning can be arranged at an extra cost.
“How do I get to and from the airport?”
Taxis and public transportation are available at and to the airport. Further details can be found on our website under "Need to know".
“How do I get to the apartment?”

“How do I get around in Budapest?”
Budapest has a good public transportation system with underground, commuter trains and buses. Taxis are also widely accessible and affordable.
“How safe is Budapest?”
Budapest is overall considered a safe city. However we recommend all visitors to take the usual precautions and watch their money and other valuables and avoid going about alone at night time.
“Do I need a passport?”
All guests are required to bring a photo-ID or passport for identification and sign-in on arrival.
“Where can I change money?”
There are several Bureaus de Change in Budapest as well as at the airport. Most banks also provide this service and credit cards are widely accepted.
“What if I cancel my reservation?”
In case of cancellation within 90 days before the beginning of the tenancy period, the full amount will be refunded.
In case of cancellation between 90 and 60 days before the beginning of the tenancy period, 50% of the amount will be refunded.
In case of later cancellation nothing will be refunded.
“What can I use the apartment for?”
The apartment can only be used for housing or home office purposes. Any illegal activity such as illegal downloading or file sharing using the internet connection, prostitution and etc. will be reported to the police immediately.
“What happens if I break something?”
Tenants are obligated to treat the apartment properly and turn it over in the same condition as when taking up residence. Tenants are responsible for any damages to the apartment and its’ inventory occurred during their stay caused by the tenant or others allowed access to the apartment by tenant. Our contact person makes an inspection of the apartment after each change of tenant and before next tenancy takes effect. Here any flaws or damages to the apartment or its’ inventory is established. Expenses for repairing these flaws or damages will be imposed on tenant.
“What happens if I lose the key?”
For security reasons we would have to change the locks and keys. Guests are fully responsible for the extra costs that would inflict.
“Do I need to clean the apartment?”
No, professional cleaning at the end of your stay is compulsory and prepaid. Before departure tenants have to clear-out, do the dishes (load and start the dishwasher), empty the trash cans and dispose of bottles etc. in the nearest skip.
“Will any additional fees be added?”
Yes, 3% tourist tax (IFA) and compulsory cleaning (80 EUR/apartment). Energy consumption is included in the rent.
“How do I get in touch with a representative in case of emergencies?“
There is a local contact person available for each apartment. If any matter of dispute should occur the contact person can be reached by dialing the telephone number stated on our website and in the information folder in the apartment.
